Pictures are coming soon.

the show was pretty much a mess.  My dresser fucked up on how to put on the garment, even though i wrote a whole page of note on it and personally talked to her before the show.  My model had the worst posture ever. oh ya, and everyone thinks something funny went on behind the judging.

This is an email that i just sent to the organizer:

hello Carolyn,

I was one of the student designers of the anti-bride fashion show. I would just like to express the fact that many, including myself, are upset over the winner of this contest because it feels like the selection process was, for lack of a better word, rigged. I don't know what really happened behind the scenes, and by no means am I accusing you of anything, but I would like to explain how I personally came to this conclusion.

First of all, I would like to tell you a story. My parents are both musicians. They play Chinese traditional music, and are quite well-known in their circle, both here in the US and back in China. When I was younger, my father was asked to be a judge on a panel for an international competition. The daughter of one very well-respected artist was competing in it, and just before the show, the artist came up to all the judges, pointed out which one was his daughter, and asked them to take care of her. All of the judges nodded and told him not to worry, because they knew what to do. The winner, of course, was the daughter.

Chaz is a good friend of mine. We have been in many classes together. He's a very sweet and friendly person, and I truly believe that he is a very talented designer. However, in my opinion, the black gown that was shown in the show was not one of his best works, or one of the best in the show.

During the meeting a few weeks prior to the show, we learned that Chaz was designing the band's outfit because he has an established relationship with you. Although we all felt that it was unfair that there wasn't a selection process for this job, we were happy for Chaz and all said, "good for him!"

I asked Chaz the night before the fitting if he would be in the show because he expressed the fact that he wanted to enter the contest a few days after the sketches were due. He said that he wasn't going to be in the contest, but he would be doing two looks for the band. This settled my worries because I felt that he would be a strong competitor, and on top of that, he personally knew the organizer of the show.

During the fitting, Chaz was neither on the list of the designers, nor did he go through the process of deciding on hair, makeup, music, etc.; therefore, none of us even knew that he would be in the show. I stayed later than everyone else because I had trouble finding a model that fit into my garment, and towards the end of the night, i overheard you say that Chaz is like your "adopted son".

We were all truly surprised when Chaz's black gown walked down the runway, because we all knew that he made the gown for his couture class, and it was not entered into the show. When Chaz's name was announced as the winner, the first thing that crossed my mind was that it wasn't a fair game.

Now I don't know if something did in fact happen behind our backs, but to the me and the other 13 designers, it really appears that way. A lot of people will be upset with Chaz because he had the connection, even though I don't believe it was his fault. (Personally, I would never believe that Chaz has the heart to pull a fast one over everyone else). It's the way this industry works; it isn't the criminal court system, and there are no lawyers to make sure that everyone on the jury is unbiased. We accept it, but it doesn't make it right.

Thank you for reading this E-mail.

i'm in a show called "anti-bride" next week, and i'm trying to get Frenchie an extra ticket, since he gave up his ticket to my mom.  and then i found this:

5 nights in curacao?? i didnt even know about that!! also, Glamour is apparently choosing one of our drawings to go in their magezine.  it'll also be covered by the sf chronicle, 7x7, and Destination I Do.

fitting was the day before yesterday, and i was so stressed out i didn't even remember to take pictures.  my mom'll bring her video camera for the show so i'll post some pics and videos of it.  it'll be super fucking awesome.

not to mention my shit is fucking brilliant, and its not just my opinion either.  more updates on that later.

we found a three bedroom house in san mateo for the same price as other one bedrooms.  it is qmskdfjqmskdjfqd fucking great.  the guy is in west africa doing research so he'll send us the keys.  i hope its not a scam... i'll keep an eye out if he starts to asks us to launder his money or something... it is kind of odd... he allows pets tho.  so i will be getting a kitty.

everyday minerals.  www.everydayminerals.com ( BAHAH finally figured out the link thing.)

awesomeness.  its all natural mineral makeup.  VERY inexpensive, does not contain bismuth dioxychloride (its found in some mineral makeups but its actually harmful to the skin.) go to there "custom kits" section and you can get a free sample kit.  they allow you to chose three foundations, a blush/face color, and a concealer.  u only pay 3.95 shipping.  i just got my samples last friday, and it is AWESOME!  i am never going back to liquid foundation again.  i just ordered the 10 eyeshadows kit, a big brush, and a moisturizer last night and i cant wait to get it.  i vouch for the coverage, even though its mineral makeup.

smashbox photo finish primer http://www.smashbox.com/index.cfm/fuseaction/products.detail/productId/8cda2a15-9b74-40f2-ae54-47e12f2ab86e/

rub this over ur skin after u moisturize and before u put on ur foundation. it minimizes the looks of large pores and fine lines.  i use it to even out the little acne scars i hav on my forehead.  it makes it nice and silky smooth for applying foundation.  its 36 dollars though.

but qlksfhqksdjfhkqjd lookie here http://www.monistat.com/soothingcare/request_sample_buffer.htm

MONISTAT chafing powder gel. same ingredients as amashbox photo finish primer, but without the pretty bottle and the price tag.  active ingredients in both: dimethicone.  works just as well if not better.  violà.  (is that where u put the accent mark?)

another mineral makeup company.  this one sends you a little sample for a dollar or 2.5 each, depending what u ask for.  i hav not tried it yet, but it seems like it has the same natural ingredients as everyday minerals, but with a lot more options.  go to "specialty eye colors" and they have some really cool shadows such as metalic, color changing, glow in the dark, etc.

great thing i found at sephora.com http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P130229&categoryId=C8620&shouldPaginate=true

i am so running out to buy it, and i'll report back when i use it.

I get these surges of motivaion once in a while. last friday i went to my school's portfolio show last week for graduation students.  there were like 8 or 10 fashion design majors, and most of them had done so much and won awards and shit and it just seems like i have a year and half til graduating and im so far from that.

ricky lake is on ellen.

anyway i barely have anything for my portfolio, and i wanted to be skinny so i can model my own stuff in the photoshoots.  and i still need to do the student fashion show, and iipffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff.

i made an awesomely cute navy blue dress for my finals for draping class (completely from scratch, including the patterns), an awesome forecasting book for trends and concepts, and fixed about 20lbs worth of patterns for patternmaking (three dresses, a pair of culottes, a pair of pants, a kimono, a jumper, and a dress shirt)AND i actually had to sew up the shirt in class... oh ya and a research paper and presentation on pornography for my socialogy class all in four days.  can you say "works well under stress"?  but its all over now and i am SOOOOO relieved.  havnt felt this relieved in a long time.

frenchie and i went to standford shopping center to look for presents, and we came back with some makeup and a pair of shoes (soo freakin' cute) for me, and one of those covers for your eyes when u sleep, you kno the one they give you on airplanes? ya for him.  so i guess we hav to go keep shopping tmrw.  which i dont mind one bit.  everybody looks at us cuz we look so cute together.  even a bum told us that. and he said "you guys should have  a baby!" our babies would have curly hair and big noses like frenchie.   we went to this italian place in burlingame, and the waiter dropped a big chunk of parmesan on my plate as he was grating it.  i took it as a sign that i wil get awesome presents this year.

i wanted to say hi to santa at the shopping center, but these kids were crying and in my way. fucking kids.

Frenchie and i drove to SLO for my cousin's wedding last weekend.  We all went to madonna inn for dinner on friday, and had turkey for dinner.  the food wasnt great, i mean it was good but not wedding good. Their cake was fantastic though.  and i looked hot.  We stayed at this Inn next to the beach with my parents.   Frenchie and i snuck out at night and made out in the jacuzzi.  The wedding itself was at the bride's church.  it was sweet, but INCOMPARABLE to what we are going to do for our wedding.  they didnt spend a lot of money on the wedding at all.  but for the reception, everyone drove out to the middle of nowhere, where theres a little abandoned town that the bride's family owns.  it was a real western, llike cowboy, town.

christmas shopping starts this friday. mMm presents.

Thanksgiving is this week, which means i get wednesday and thursday off.  we are driving back to my mom's wednesday night and having dinner at my aunt's on thursday.  This is Frenchie's first thanksgiving, and he's loving it already.  he keeps saying "i cannot wait to thank the native americans for giving you food and then you just kill them."  he's so freakin' cute.

finally got going to the gym TWO DAYS IN A ROW and i pull a leg muscle.  im not too worried though. afterall i AM married.  i'd hav to gain another, oh 50 pounds for him to think about leaving me.  im really going to stick to it tho. my goal is to wear size 27 without any fat sticking out at the top, and to comfortably be in a bikini.  oh and eventually quit smoking.  eventually.  really.

i didnt get the princess job.  i dont kno what went wrong. i was perfect at the interview. i even "awwwwww"-ed at her stinky bunnies.  not to mention my fairy makeup was awesome.  she's just intimitated.  maybe i'll learn some magic tricks and start my own princess company.

i miss butters.  but we are gonna get a kitten when we find our own apartment.

being married is full of dirty laundries and grocery store trips.  im getting pretty good at cooking.  and frenchie's getting pretty good at eating what i cook.  it used to be ''did you like what i made tonight?''... now it's "this is what im making, eat it or starve.''as a result, we've been eating a lot more chinese food.

i'm auditioning tonight to be a Magic Princess.  most AWESOME job ever. check it out: www.magicprincess.com  if they agree to hire me, they'll have to train me to do balloon animals, facepainting, etc... and then i can quit my current job at the airport, and be a magic princess on the weekend.

school starts in two weeks.  taking the summer quarter off was a good call.  i feel ready for more bone crushing pressures and deadlines.

i've moved in.  just so you kno.  its been a week and its been pretty sweet. i found a part time job at the airport, and im probably starting tmrw.

its been pretty uneventful.. to say the least.  frenchie works from 9-5 so i've been alone all week during the day.  besides running some errands, i've made safeway my best friend.. trying to figure out what to cook for dinner.

im just trying to function normally right now.  which, to be honest, its pretty hard for me at this point.  currently, im lying in my bed, naked, and plan to stay this way for the next couple of hours.  not that i enjoy it.  its just too much work to get up.  frenchie comes home at 6:30. so i wont hav to worry about cleaning or dinner till eh.. 4.

did i mention i started accupuncture and herbal medicine? i can't say i believe in it so far.  seems like voodoo to me.. lol  but it can't hurt.

Perlman switched me to cymbalta.  its quite a hoot.  (no its not)  i've just just so annoyed and irritated that i'd snap at everyone.  actually i've just been avoiding talking to people.  i got mad at frenchie last night cuz he was being weird.  (no he wasnt) it was just all of a sudden i couldnt stand talking to him. but now i cant find him and i want to talk to him.

plans for the next weeks: next week i hav four more days of painting class, then its over.  when i find the camera i'll post what i've been doing.  some of it is pretty good.  then that weekend im going to Millbrae so frenchie wouldnt hav to come all the way up here.  the following monday i hav a job interview.  its a food place in the airport.  i'll hav to be fingerprinted and checked for criminal records... cuz its the airport. but if that goes well, which it should, i will probably start the next Monday, the 25th.  if thats the case, i'm gonna be moving in the weekend before. which means i hav a lot of preparing to do. such as getting a big mattress (or two small mattresses).

speaking of which, irene li did u tell ur mom i was moving?  she asked my mom if i wanted two mattresses?

hmmmmm so i guess its going as planned.  if i save up enough money maybe i'll go to France with frenchie in september for two weeks.  that'll be totally sweet.  i just need to pay for the tickets.. how much could that cost?  oy... $1300.  maybe not...

so then school starts again in October. im planning on finding a place in daly city in september.  it'll be more convenient.

thats all folks.
